About clinic:

Dr. Gokhan Gur is one of the leading figures in Turkish hair transplantation. He has performed more than 3000 hair transplants personally over the 17 years he has been using the FUE technique.

Dr. Gur was one of the original practitioners of FUE in Turkey, and one of its first in the entire world. He is a member both of the Turkish Medical Doctors Association (TMDA) and Turkish Medical Aesthetic Association (TMAA). He was also a member of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery until April 2020.

Dr. Gur graduated in 1994 from Gaziantep University. He was a member of the Faculty of Medicine. He worked from 1995 to 2003 at Haymana Emergency Medicine in Ankara, where he treated more than 5000 medical and emergency cases.

Dr. Gur began his hair transplantation career in Ankara in 2003. He performed more than 1200 hair transplants, 40 body hair transplants and 200 hair loss medical treatment cases between 2003 and 2011. He brought his expertise and services to Istanbul in 2011. In the next 3 years, he performed 600+ FUE transplant operations, 100+ hair-loss medical treatments, and 30+ body transplant operations. He now takes care of his patients in his private clinic.

FUE:

Since 2003, this modern method of hair transplantation is in use. This method is far more advanced than previous methods like FUT and strip harvesting transplantation.

Basic stages of hair transplantation:

FUE is a technique that extracts or “harvests” follicular unit(s) from the donor area. These units contain between 1 and 5 hairs. FUE hair transplants use a special instrument to create a small incision in the skin around the follicular units, and then separate it from surrounding tissue. The unit is removed directly from the scalp leaving only a small hole. To receive the grafts, the scalp is punctured with a microsurgical needle. The grafts will be inserted in an angle to the recipient area and with a specified density so that they look natural and realistic.

For the following reasons, FUE has been the preferred procedure for patients around the world:

    • It takes less time to heal.
    • Average recovery times are less than 10 days.
    • The results of the procedure are permanent once they have been completed.

Q Is my type of baldness treatable with hair transplant?

Q How many days does the procedure last?

Ideal treatment should last for 4 days. Day 1 is the trip to Turkey. Our technicians will advise you on the duration of your treatment.

Q How long does the surgery last?

The duration of the surgery is between 4-8 hours.

Q How do I tale care of the donor and implanted area?

The transplanted area should be protected for 7-10 days.
After the implant is placed, the bandage will be removed within 1-2 days.
Every day, you should wash your hair. This can be done by your doctor.
The scabs on the scalp will disappear by the seventh day.
For at least two weeks after the implant, you should not swim in the ocean or use solariums.
After implantation, you should not consume alcohol for at least three days.
Avoid contact with or friction with the scalp for the first 10 days following implantation.
During the first 10 days following the implant, the head must be elevated from the body. You should not engage in strenuous activities or weight lifting, no matter how small, nor any other physical activity.
Two pillows are recommended for sleep. This will ensure that the head and body are elevated.
The sun should be kept out of the donor's and transplant area until all crusts have been removed. The process takes about ten days. If sunlight exposure is not possible, a hat that doesn't put pressure on the head may be necessary.
Do not scratch your head.
It is recommended to drink lots of fluids and to try to avoid sugar and salt consumption for at least 10 days after the intervention.

Q Are the results permanent?

FUECAPILAR hair transplants using the FUE or DHI method use hair follicles taken from donor areas (back and sides of the head). These follicles have been genetically programmed not to respond to hormones that cause hair loss. These follicles retain their genetic characteristics within the receptor area. The implant's results are permanent.
